The Marktgarage in Ahrweiler was built in 1986 according to AMP planning as a two-story underground car park by using the top down construction method.
In July 2021, the underground car park was completely floodedduring the flood disaster in the Ahr Valley. In addition to the structural damage caused by the temporary overloading of the intermediate slab, the building services systems also had to be completely renewed.
On this occasion, many other measures were also carried out to increase the user-friendliness of the car park. For example, the parking space width was increased to 2.50 m, which was easily possible due to the intelligent AMP bearing structure. Hold-open systems for the doors, bicycle parking spaces and a new colour concept finalize the modernisation measures.
The Aufbau- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler commissioned AMP with the planning phases 1-4 as well as with a functional tender and participation in the awarding. The general contractor Hetzel & Sponheuer then commissioned AMP with the execution planning.
