The three existing car parks at the headquarter of the Federal Ministry of Defence (BMVg) on the Hardthöhe in Bonn became
old and would have had to be extensively renovated. So, it was decided to demolish them and to build one replacement building
with 1,100 parking spaces.
AMP was commissioned with design planning together with guiding details, a functional tender and the site supervision. After
an initial extensive variant investigation, a 4-storey solution with 3 parallel parking lanes and one entry and exit spindle ramp
each was selected as the favourite and implemented. An energy central is located between the two spindles.
The facade is clad with a stainless-steel mesh and the spindles and the energy central with high-quality precast concrete
elements. The top parking level is covered, and the roof is extensively greened and equipped with a photovoltaic system.
